Photonic Moments is an annual Photo Salon displaying contemporary photography from the region of Eastern and Southeastern Europe. In last years we’ve seen already four editions of it with participating artists coming from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Hungary, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Serbia and Turkey. The concept of selection is based instead of individual applications on invited local curators, critics and galleries from each participating country of the region to give us their selection of emerging artists.

Photonic Moments exhibition project is oriented towards contemporary (fine art) photography and young, emerging artists with various artistic approaches and concepts. Main goal of the exhibition is to present and promote the most significant artists (after the curatorial selection of local partners) from this area in the region and broader. Photonic Moments is on the way to erect the status of photographic media in the field of contemporary art in Eastern and Southeastern Europe on comparable level with other, more established artistic media. Specific of mentioned area is in lack of institutional support towards contemporary photography, both in the sense of education and presentation of the production.

Photonic Moments is in its fourth edition concentrating on six countries of wider Balkan region and connect this area through this specific artistic expression. As each year, the exhibition is originally shown in Cankarjev dom in Ljubljana (21.10 - 16.11. 2008.), only to be exhibited later in Zagreb (Croatia), Sarajevo (Bosnia), Belgrade (Serbia), Graz (Austria), Vienna (Austria), and Trieste (Italy).
